Maybe you are just like me…Busy Busy Busy. Full of faith, purpose, and BUSY!

wahm 5 Simple Truths All Business Moms Want You To Know

When you work from home, juggling kids, house and business responsibilities, it can be easy to get overwhelmed. I believe God designed us all to live out loud. Regardless of how busy we appear to be I constantly remind myself that God has also fully equipped me as a mother, wife, business owner, and his child to do all that He has called me to do.

Today I am reminded of 5 Simple Truths

1. When you have kids, interruptions are an all the time thing so embrace them ( and your kids).

2. My office – is multi-use area: and a work in progress- I just don’t get caught up in the mess.

3. Coffee starts my day, without it, my day really doesn’t start. One eye open, on a biz call kinda day.

4. Swooping is a normal part of the day ( swooping in office and out), let’s face it. 3 kids under 6 means, being ready when the moment presents itself and going with flow.

5. Busy busy busy.. running errands, coaching, and planning. I am a sucker for the 15 minute meal lifestyle. Healthy and productive is the goal.

Are these true for you? When you are overwhelmed, what do you do to get back into a harmonious flow? Please share your thoughts below.

“I believe God gives everyone a voice. Your story is your voice. Your voice is given to you to be light for others walking in the dark. Learn to embrace your voice and be light in a dark world.” ~ Christy Lee

5 Tips for Staying Calm (regardless of the challenge)

PinExt 5 Tips for Staying Calm (regardless of the challenge)

Last week was trying for me. Is it okay that I share that with you? I am a strong believer in granting ourselves grace. Many of you are aware if you have been following me on Facebook, that I had surgery last week.

I admit I was somewhat fearful, yet happy to be moving forward through the invisible wall of fear. In sharing with some of my colleagues and friends, I found that I am not the only one who experienced somewhat of a hectic week:) It made me think about how vital the idea of ‘staying calm’, and keeping our energy calm around us.

keep calm 300x253 5 Tips for Staying Calm (regardless of the challenge)

Today I going to share My Top 5 Tips for Staying Calm.

1. KEEP YOUR NERVES TO YOURSELF: Standard wisdom has been to talk about our fears, but sometimes it’s better to take time to figure things out for ourselves and strategize. Even talking it over with our best friends can backfire since they may tend to sympathize with our anxieties and inadvertently fuel our fear.

2.. USE YOUR IMAGINATION: Visualizing ways to bring calm can really help. I try to imagine putting my problem in a box, closing it up and then giving it wings so it can fly away into the clouds – getting smaller and smaller until it disappears. You can come up with your own imagery.

3. THINK ABOUT WHAT “SHE” WOULD DO: Do you know someone whom you would describe as unflappable? Try to think of what this person would do in your situation.

4. OPT TO BE DISTRACTED: Instead of obsessing, find something fun, engaging, and constructive to do. Take a break and watch a funny movie or read a blog that always make you laugh. When you lighten up, it’s a lot easier to keep your cool.

5. TAKE IN SOME WISE WORDS: Certain quotes can center me almost immediately such as “In three words I can sum up everything I’ve learned about life: it goes on.” (Robert Frost) or “If you don’t know where you are going, any road will get you there.” (Lewis Carroll.) But if these don’t resonate within you, find quotes or affirmations that do and repeat them to yourself for a quick, calm fix.
