I am a personal story telling nut and I am kind of proud of it. I am not saying this to boast But just to say that personal stories are how we shape our lives.

what your personal story business The Most Effective Marketing Tool Is Your Personal Story

I do not think I am capable of telling you something with out telling you a personal story.

This is not because I am vain and conceited but because it’s ingrained in me that I want to relate to you!

I want you to know on a very personal level that I know about what you are going through. I have not walked in your shoes mind you But I want you to know I feel you. I tell personal stories not because I’m all about me. I tell them to let you know I am a lot like you and I love you and respect you. I value you! This is also what your reader wants to know when you write am article

In your writing personal stories make you more human to your audience a little bit of transparency goes a long way.  Here are some tips to make your article sing  with the art of personal story telling and some traps to avoid when you begin writing in this style.

Share Your Story The Most Effective Marketing Tool Is Your Personal StoryAlways use a personal story.

Personal stories, such as tales of triumph or tragedy, are great human interest pieces that attract a wide variety of readers.

This style also provides your unique insight in an informal, engaging, compelling, and informative format.

While all articles aim to inform by sharing your own exclusive and original content, personal stories forge a bond between the author and the reader via a link of empathy and trust.

Like traditional article writing methods, the best personal story articles still include tips, strategies, techniques, case-studies, analyses, opinions, and commentaries based on your own perspective. However, unlike formal article writing methods, the personal story style is an informal approach that attracts, engages, and cultivates loyal readers on a whole new level of success.

Let’s Talk About The Art of Storytelling

Sharing a great personal story comes down to an age-old storytelling format:

  • Exposition: This is the introduction or the background information orienting the reader into the story. This doesn’t have to be your life-story; merely the important keys to help build a foundation for the reader to familiarize themselves with the setting.
  • Rising Action: Introduction of conflicts, obstacles, or extraordinary events that are either controlled or uncontrolled by the protagonist (the main person of the story). This can include your analysis, opinion, or commentary about a particular event, subject, or experience.
  • Climax: This is the turning point of the story. Often it is the point of a significant change (good or bad) the story has been building toward.
  • Falling Action: The results or events after the climax of the story. This can include the development and execution of a plan, surfacing evidence that reinforces the main point of the climax, and more.
  • Conclusion:  A resolution is made or the story comes to a close that either resolves or provides the reader with closure.

Here Are Some Additional Tips to Writing an Engaging Personal Story

Here are a few more keys to incorporating a personal story into your articles successfully:

  1. Pick an Engaging and Compelling Topic – While it is true that the Internet is so large, someone is bound to find any story interesting – deciding which personal story to use can be a challenge. Consider how you got to where you are in your niche today – are there any particular events, experiences, etc. that stick out in your mind? Think of an article topic – what experience or event in your life reminds you of that topic?
  2. Avoid Writing a Journal or Diary Entry – “When we went to Hawaii, we went to the store to get pineapple juice. After that, we went for a walk, it was breathtaking. Then we went to party that was off the hook.” Boring! A retelling of an itinerary doesn’t provide the reader with informative value.
  3. Avoid Writing Promotional Content – “I was struggling with my mortgage. I decided to give [Company Name] a shot and I’ve never looked back! [Company Name] has been a fantastic opportunity for me to earn income…” This doesn’t provide the reader with objective or unbiased information and it appears to readers like a recruiting advertisement or promotional copy.

A personal story can be the perfect gateway to build trust with your audience and increase your credibility. Try it for your next set of quality articles!

Lessons From Mom

twitter Lessons From Mom

5 Lessons I learned from my mom that apply to business.
Mothers Love e1336967709904 Lessons From MomIn honor of  Mother’s Day and every mother out there, I want to say Happy Mother’s Day. You are one of the most important people on the planet. You help mold us and shape us  into the people we will later become.

I am so grateful and thankful to my own mom who taught me a lot. Thanks Mom!

My own mom is truly amazing. She has had to battle a lot of demons  and still she stayed focused on raising 3 healthy well adjusted children. She was just 17 years old when she had me several years ago she was a single mom and I was born with Cerebral Palsy. I can’t imagine being 17 and having a child with a disability. She is loving and strong and relentless in her pursuit of letting each one of us know we are loved, we matter and we can make a difference. I am Blessed, I am blessed, I am blessed!

Today I want to talk to you about 5 lessons my mom taught me about business.  At the time I learned them I had no idea that they would apply so well to where I  am in my life building a wonderful writing business from the ground up and being a work at home mom and network marketer.

As I was thinking about my mom this weekend and all that she taught me I suddenly realized how much she prepared me for life and business. So I thought to myself these are the perfect things to share with other people who are in my boat and building a business too.

lessons mom 300x225 Lessons From Mom

Lesson 1- You are not an island- Everything you say and do has a ripple effect and touches someone somewhere. Watch what you say and do and be kind. Always treat others with respect. Treat others how you would like to be treated. I have  two younger sisters and I had to learn to share and this is what my mother would tell me a lot …. You were not born an only child on an island learn to share please.

Lesson 2. Lead by Example - You set the example for others around you to follow. People will watch you. Some people will do what you do others will do what you do if you are doing good things. Don’t worry at those people who make fun of you in life because you are different. No ones life is perfect and as you get older people look to people they can be like. Everyone will have something in life they must overcome . You lead by example and do good things and people will look to how you handled your problems when they have their own issues.

Lesson 3- Adapt, adapt, ADAPT!- You can be anything in life you want to become if you work hard at it and apply yourself. Now I took this one to heart and truly believed it and then for a time I believed that this was just something parents told you so that you would try hard.

After all there were things in my life that I could not do and would not be able to do because of the limitations of my physical disability. I desperately want to run a marathon. I will not be able to run a marathon in this lifetime unless the good Lord makes it so,then it is possible. But I have learned to adapt and overcome to circumstances. I may not be able to run But I can bounce.

I have bounced back over and over and over. I  adapt and I tell you the truth this saying is so very true. Yes there are limitations in life EVERYONE has hurdles. In business it’s how you overcome your hurdles that defines your success or failure. Just do it and ADAPT, ADAPT ADAPT.

Lesson 4- Stand up for what you want - Stand up for what you believe in. Go after what you want. In business you have to know what you want and you have to look fear in the eye and go get it. Fear will stop you if you give it a foothold so banish it by going for what you really want. My mom taught me not to be afraid of the unknown and to go after what you want in this life because its your  life and no one is ultimately going to live  it with as  much courage and strength as you have .

Lesson 5- POSITIVE  BREEDS POSITIVE-OMG ( OH MY GOODNESS)  this rings in my ears and rattles through my brain daily… It’s my mantra, Thanks Mom.  The more you infuse positivity into your life and your business the more you will see positive things flow through your life and your business. BELIEVE IN YOU! BECAUSE I DO!!!

My mom is an amazing woman. She was always there. She has been my champion and my driving force. Thank you mom for preparing me for life and for business
